Not the roast level. Not the tasting notes. Not the origin stamp on the bag. What's actually in it? We mean the hands that picked it, the soil it came from, the chain of decisions that determined whether the person who grew it was paid fairly or exploited quietly?

Most brands don't want you asking that question. We built this page because we think you should.

The Standard We Won't Compromise

Every coffee we carry is specialty grade. That's not a feel-good claim. It's a fact and a measurable threshold set by the Specialty Coffee Association: 80 points or above on a 100-point scale evaluating aroma, flavor, acidity, body, balance, and finish.

Below that line, we don't go. Not because we can't. Because we won't.

Specialty grade isn't the ceiling. It's the floor.

The Importers Behind the Beans

If the roast is the fire in the kitchen, the importers are the architects who built the house around it. The green coffee that becomes your morning cup moves through well established and trusted importers who have spent years, in some cases decades, building direct relationships with the farmers and co-ops who grow exceptional coffee.

The importers in our supply chain include names the specialty coffee world knows and respects like:

Royal Coffee, one of the most respected green coffee importers in North America, known for direct trade relationships and rigorous quality control.

Cafe Imports, a B-Corp certified importer with deep farmer partnerships across origin countries, committed to transparency, fair pricing, and sustainability at every level of the chain.

Caravela Coffee, specialists in Latin American specialty coffee, working directly with producers to improve quality and ensure growers are compensated at levels that make excellence sustainable, not sacrificial.

These aren't just names. These are the organizations that stand between the farmer and your cup, and they, like us, take that responsibility seriously.

On Fair Wages

The importers in our supply chain operate with fair wage commitments built into how they do business. Cafe Imports is B-Corp certified. Caravela has built its entire model around producer-first economics. Royal Coffee's direct trade relationships prioritize long-term grower viability over short-term price optimization.

Fair wages aren't a bonus feature. They're the minimum requirement for coffee you can drink without reservation.

On Organic and Sustainability : The Honest Version

Not every farm we source from carries an official organic certification. We're going to be direct about why: organic certification costs money that small producers in developing countries often don't have. The absence of a certificate doesn't mean the absence of the practice.

Many of the farms in our supply chain use methods that mirror organic standards like protecting soil health, reducing chemical inputs, promoting biodiversity, building systems that sustain the land for the next generation of growers. The practice is there. The paperwork isn't always.

Where certified organic exists in our chain, we'll say so. Where it doesn't but the values do, we'll say that too.

Is a label the same as a practice? Or have we been trained to trust the stamp more than the truth behind it?

Why Your Morning Deserves to Know This

The ritual we believe in, what our whole thing here is about, the reclaiming of your first hour, the intentionality, the choice to begin the day on your own terms, that ritual requires something worthy of it.

You cannot pour meaning into a cup built on shortcuts. The integrity of what's in your cup and the integrity of how it got there are not two separate things. They have never been two separate things.

We sourced this way before we had customers. We'll source this way when we have tens of thousands. That's not a marketing position. That's a line we drew before we launched and haven't moved.
